So, I may have mentioned before how I wanted to screen-print a design onto a t-shirt?
Well, my mom sent me some of her clean panty-hose yesterday (yeah, really -- she even wrote on the envelope that they were clean), so they could act as the screen for this little endeavor. So I decided that instead of studying I would do it. The process took awhile, man.
I'm a dumb-ass because I purchased BLOCK PRINTING INK and not the ink for FABRIC. What was I thinking -- I think I was blinded by the brand and instantly thought 'oh this is what I need' when perusing Art Mart. So after my labors, and the design is on the shirt, I will never ever be able to wash it because the ink comes right off, and I'm not exactly happy with the placement of the bird.
Thankfully this weekend I'm heading to Columbia and picking up some proper ink, and a new white t-shirt and I'll do it again. Correctly this time, and maybe with a stencil instead of panty-hose because I feel that that was unneccesary to use and overly complicated. Next time I'll take pictures so I can show you all.
Yep! I can be a dumb-ass!
So, in my day-to-day living I've been known to do a number of rather stupid things! This could turn into a whenever-I-get-the-urge feature of this blog. Aren't you excited!? Okay. Here are the first two...
1. I was cleaning out my closet awhile ago, and at the bottom of my closet I have a number of pairs of running shoes. Probably four or five since I used to run cross country in high school and just never threw the old pairs away. So, anyway, I thought it would be the perfect time to do just that! I go ahead and throw away all but one pair of shoes. Now, skip to the present when I want to go running. I pick up my shoes from my closet and notice that they're not the same. I had thrown away the right shoe of my newest pair, and all but one left shoe of an old pair! SO I had two shoes that fit the correct feet, but looked different! Man did I feel like a dumb-ass!
2. I cleaned out my car a few days ago, and had two blankets in my back-seat. I decided to wash them without unfolding them. Ha! Big mistake! Everything was fine through the washer, but when they were finished in the dryer I open the door and find this horrid blue stain on the walls of the dryer and bits of blue rubber stuck to the sides! Turns out that a balloon had MELTED onto one of the blankets, and since I didn't check the balloon was washed and dryed, which allowed it to smear all over the dryer! Yep! I can be a dumb-ass! (Right now, after furious scrubbing and removing everything but the non-removable stain I'm testing out some stuff in the dryer now to see if any of the blue comes off the walls. I HOPE IT DOESN'T. I have lots of laundry to do before I go away!)
