Yeah, maybe I write about new music too much instead of more about my current life, but whatever. I was a little apprehensive about listening to this album because there are definitely more hip-hop vibes to the songs (not all, just a few) that seem to be going away from Beck's usual style. Something that's not bad because all artists should experiment and change it up and all that (unless you're The Killers and mangle up your sound abhoringly). Anyway, I must say that I'm falling in love with this album; I've had it on repeat for most of the day. I like the hip-hopish style of the some of the songs because they work well, and otherwise the songs really appeal to my ear. I don't know much about music, so I can't quite comment on the logistics or use 'technical terms' to describe this album. In the end, it's made me feel damn good. Ha.

Also, if you purchase the album through the iTunes' store you get the videos that go along with the songs as well, and those are fun fun fun to watch.

School and life are fine. I'm reading The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac right now (I can't remember if I've mentioned this yet) and really enjoying the read. And today I've been rather proactive with studying Spanish and writing my story. Only four-hundred more words! Mmm going to a party tonight, but have nothing to do until then, so I may take a nap.

I'm liking this album quite a lot. Emily Haines is from Metric, and The Soft Skeleton consists of various persons from various bands that she holds dear to her. Check it out, please!

Otherwise today has been good. The weather and blue sky was horrendously distracting, so I haven't gotten too much done. Did well on my math test, I believe, and I feel fairly prepared for this spanish test on friday. If I study some more this evening and then tomorrow I should be a-okay!

It's kind of scary watching the open course list slowly fill up for the spring semester. Since I only have three credits to my name I get the pleasure of registering last, which means slim pickin'. All the creative writing classes are basically full, so I'm going to have to search for another English class. Otherwise it's not so bad. I'll just have to keep an eye on it until november ninth when I can finally select my course load for next semester. Ahhh!

Two friends and myself went and visited a house this past weekend that we're considering renting next year. It was really awesome with its porch and newly carpeted intererior (the bedrooms were still hardwood, which is awesome), and new sink, and stove. The windows were big and the bathroom was as well, and we're all just rather excited. We're going to keep looking around, but I think we all really like the one we saw this past weekend. Yay for getting away from campus!

I've been listening to a lot of that Thao Nyugen album, AND and Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins (Jenny Lewis being the lead singer of Rilo Kiley). I love this finding of good music. And the weather outside is wonderful and I shaved today and am getting a hair-cut tomorrow, and oh the excitement.

These things keep me from being too sad. That boy that I mentioned in the last blog didn't work out. He's not even sure he's gay, which is pretty hilarious. I don't know. Everything has just made me fed up with the pursuit. I'm not going to search out the gay men, I'm not going to instigate anymore. I am done! Yes.

I've made a design for a t-shirt I'm going to silk-screen. I'm really, really excited about it. When it's finished I'll be sure to take pictures and show you all. Yahoo.

Okay, I have to get ready for class. Just a wee update -- hope everyone is well!

I've been listening to Thao Nguyen constantly lately. I only have three songs that I stole from her website. I want more! So I (amazingly) got myself into the iTune's store and purchased the album! Mainly because I couldn't find any of her music on Limewire. Once I listen to the whole CD I shall do a proper review -- I can already tell I'm going to love it!

Today has been really good. I had lunch with a guy in my East Asian Civ. class, and we get along really well. And he's gay! So, there definitely could be something brewing. Such as today in class he sat next to me, and while watching a movie I did the whole 'subtle pressure of knee on knee' (I had my leg crossed over -- the "manly" leg cross if you will -- and he did as well) where I moved my knee ever so subtly to where it was pressing against his knee, and then slowly applied pressure. Most men will move away at this because you're invading their personal space, but he didn't! It could be a slight sign, yes. I love this aspect of the chase. The subtle flirting and uncertainty and exhiliration. We're going to go on a walk later tonight -- I'll be sure to keep you all updated (if you're curious, ha).

I really like my neighborhood, and the people I've encountered here on Vox. I agree with everything people have been saying, and like others am unsure about how this opening up of Vox will affect the experience. Basically, all you that read my posts or make posts I read are really awesome. Please feel free to talk to me on AIM anytime, hah (I feel like I've said this before -- but it bares repeating, mhm).

Today has been a day of purchases. Bought a standing, metallic silver lamp with a swiveling head and adjustable height. I'm pretty excited about it though I slightly wish it was black or something other than metallic silver. I guess I could always paint the sucker, but that might just make it horrendous. Oh well. No big deal. Then, I bought a chair for five dollars! It's black and sits on the floor and rocks. For five dollars I've very pleased with the purchase. I also have an urge to go peruse the bookstore and turn my job applications in at the mall.

I've also been getting new music!

-->
I actually purchased this album (big shocker, I haven't purchased music in FOREVER). I knew I would like the music because I've been listening to Josh Rouse almost exclusively for the past week or so. It is nice having a full album though. His voice is really appealing; I am really glad a friend told me about his music.

This is the second album I've listened to this weekend -- last night actually. Now, I've never been a huge fan of the Killers because I thought they sounded a lot like Interpol who I liked a lot better (and came before them). They just ended up sounding like a cheap copy band. After listening to their new album I still have this opinion, and now I dislike them even more. I think there might be one or two songs I sort of enjoy, but otherwise blah! They've definitely gone away from their old sound, but I think they went in the wrong direction.

The third group has been The Hush Sound, and I actually found out about this group from a friend's away message. You know how people (me included) like to put song lyrics in their away messages? Well, I liked what I read, and decided to check it out. So far I've really enjoyed what I've heard. I have a number of songs from their So Sudden album, and not so much of Like Vines, but I think I'd like both of them. I've always been a sucker for female vocals, and this woman's (Greta Salpeter) voice sounds really nice. Interestingly the band was started by Greta and Bob Morris while Greta was in seventh grade, and Bob in high school. They eventually acquired the other two members of the band (Darren WIlson and Chris Faller) after deciding that solely using guitar and piano wasn't enough to achieve the sound they wanted. I find that interesting, and have always been a fan of independent groups that later make it to signing a label after hard work and such (like Regina Spektor).

This is what I do instead of studying.
Plus, my procrastination isn't helped by the guys playing good music next door. I just have to get jiggy with it!

And, I totally forgot to finish this entry before I went to bed. It's morning now! Ha!
The clouds are interesting outside today, like a big ceiling with the sun a big, bright hole boring through.

New music: Joshua Radin and Josh Rouse. Check them out!

Yet another spotty entry with no fixed subject. I blame my sporadic mind (HI I'M BUSY, AYAYA).

Toodles, chicos.
